Africa is one of the prominent tourist places in the world. It houses history of the likes of Egypt, and large national parks. Various countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, South Africa, Mauritius and Seychelles, have made a mark for themselves on the world map for various reasons. We sail across this region, primarily on the east coast, and visit all these beautiful destinations.
Blue lagoons, beautiful reefs and stunning tranquil beaches make up Mauritius. Divided into North and South, hotels are on both sides. Sugarcane is the biggest crop. Sightseeing is in abundance, right from the seven colored earth Chamarel, to the beautiful water falls and the national park. The divinity Ganga Talao depicts the high Indian influence.
A total of 115 islands off the coast of East Africa make up Seychelles. It's a dream destination for honeymooners. Beaches and natural reefs are in abundance. The capital city is Victoria and everywhere we see a thumping French Colonial influence in the architecture. The national park houses rare species, like Giant Aldabra Tortoises.
Kenya occupies a prominent place on the East Africa coastline and is the world’s most famous place for experiencing wildlife and jungle safaris. Terrains in Kenya include Savannahs, lake lands, mountain highlands and sparse jungles. The most popular national parks are Masai Mara and Amboseli Park. Kenya shares borders with Tanzania and Ethiopia. .
Tanzania is most famous for Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, in the Kilimanjaro national park. It shares borders with Kenya. The other popular national park is the Serengeti National Park. The Big-5 are on easy viewing here. Tanzania also is home to the offshore marine park with Whale Sharks and Coral Reefs. Tanzania is a beautiful but under-rated country worth a visit.
Lying on the east coast of Africa, Mozambique has a very long shore line and some beautiful beaches with an offshore marine park. The Portuguese era ruins are everywhere in the country. This region is also know for some coral reefs. Fresh seafood, tropical islands and traditional art and craft are the hallmark of this country, topped up by the serene & clean white sand beaches. .
Madagascar came into lime light by the movie of the same name. It lies about 400 kms. off the east coast of Africa and is a large island country with abundant wildlife and dense forests. The country consists of a main island and a number of smaller islands surrounding it. Crocodile Farm, Whale Watching, Trekking, and swimming with the sharks are popular.activities.
Richards Bay is one of the largest harbors in South Africa and is well know for the Hluhluwe safari and St. Lucia boat trip. Shopping is a dream in the Boardwalk mall, Pelican Island is worth a visit, Kosi Bay is a sight for sore eyes, and the day comes to a perfect end with shopping at the Bohemian Beach Bumz.
Long Heritage trails, old neighborhoods and Victorian landmarks are the hallmark of Port Elizabeth. It is also a major sea port of South Africa. People come here for whale spotting, rare sea birds and wildlife. Adventure sports are in abundance. Beaches are popular, plenty of entertainment & shopping options available. .
Cape Town is the legislative capital and one of the three capital cities of South Africa. The prominent landmark is the Table Mountain. The prison which held Nelson Mandela, now a museum, is also located here. The cable cars to the Table Mountain provide beautiful views of the city. It is a popular with the rich folks.
