One of the most tourist-friendly destinations in the South East Asia region is the entire belt which consists of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Our fifth ship will sail in this region. This is a place which was once dominated by Star Cruises & Dream Cruises, however, this company did not survive the lock down. Thus, there is a huge gap available in this region for cruisers, which we intend to fill. The only other player in this region, Royal Caribbean, has increased its capacity here.
Singapore is perhaps the most disciplined country in the world. Singapore has managed to preserve its colonial heritage and built modern day marvels around them. The use of technology is unparalleled, and it is visible in the various attractions. It is synonymous with shopping. It has also become a major commercial port in the region.
Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, , visited from Port Klang, where the ships dock, is a major tourist destination in the world. The famous Petronas Twin Towers put it high in the world of cities to visit. Many other attractions, well connected by road, await you. It is also the gateway to Genting Highland Resort. Don’t miss the colonial structures.
Penang has two parts, the Penang City and George Town. Both these cities are connected by one of the longest road bridges in Malaysia. George Town is a very colorful capital of the Island of Penang. While there are modern day skyscrapers and tall buildings, there is also a clear visible influence of the British era and the Chinese occupation.
Phuket is an island resort town in the south of Thailand, and is considered upscale compared to Pattaya, without losing out on any of the fun. While the city itself has not much to offer in terms of attractions, the local shopping is a delight, and the nearby Phi Phi Island boat trip is a must. Phuket is easy on the pocket and has luxury hotels of local and international brands, in abundance.
Jakarta is a very large city and also the capital of Indonesia. It is a mix of influences from the Malay, Arabs, Indian, European, Chinese and Java. The Dutch colonial buildings in the old town are a beautiful sight to watch. Do not miss the Taman Mini Indonesia park, filled with miniatures from all over the country. The national monument gives Washington monument a run for its money.
